Hotel Guest Room Lighting: How to Implement One-Touch Control

Have you ever experienced this while staying in a hotel? Lights turn on automatically upon entry; one single button switches all lights off before bedtime; floor lights dimly activate for midnight bathroom trips; and all lights turn off with a delay after you remove the room card. These seemingly simple conveniences rely on a complete set of control logic for guest room lighting.

Hotel guest room lighting is generally divided into four core scenarios:

• Welcome Mode upon entry: Corridor lights and bedside lights turn on, offering guests a warm first impression.
• Reading Mode before sleep: Only bedside lights remain on without disturbing other occupants.
• Night Light Mode for midnight visits: Low-brightness floor lights switch on to illuminate walkways without glare.
• All-Off Mode upon departure: All lighting fixtures shut down to save energy.

An advanced upgrade is adding door contact linkage:

The corridor light automatically switches on when the door opens. Welcome Mode activates after card insertion for power supply. All lights turn off with a 30-second delay once the room card is removed.

This delay is critical. It gives guests time to gather belongings before leaving, avoiding sudden complete darkness right after pulling out the card.

During commissioning, repeated testing is required for fixture combinations, brightness levels and delay durations of each scene, to guarantee intuitive and smooth operation for guests.
