Schneider SHO2XA2A Outdoor Temp/Humidity Sensor Analog

The SpaceLogic SHO2XA2A is an advanced outdoor air temperature and relative humidity transmitter designed for meteorological sensing and fresh air intake monitoring of Air Handling Units (AHUs). Enclosed in a highly weather-resistant housing, the device features a 2% accuracy thin-film capacitive RH sensor and an active temperature transmitter, shielded by an integrated solar radiation shield (Sun Shield).

The shield prevents direct sunlight, heavy precipitation, and thermal radiation from skewing sensor accuracy, providing reliable outdoor meteorological data for BMS free-cooling algorithms and HVAC enthalpy calculations.

1. BMS Enthalpy Control: Monitors outdoor air humidity and temperature to calculate real-time enthalpy. The BAS uses this to control outside air dampers, switching to free-cooling when outdoor air is more favorable than recirculated air.
2. Night Purge & Free Cooling: Feeds baseline meteorological data to the BMS, allowing automatic night purging to cool down building concrete slabs naturally during summer.
3. Winter Freeze Protection: Tracks sub-zero outdoor conditions in cold climates to preemptively modulate AHU heating coils, protecting water loops from freezing.
