The RL 521/23 KNX shutter blind actuator is a two-channel AC 230 V controller designed for installation in AP 641 room control boxes or AP 118 automation module boxes. Each channel delivers 6 A rated contact current and utilizes two electrically interlocked relays to reverse motor direction for raising and lowering sun protection systems and shutters.

Integrated electronics automatically detect electromechanical limit switches and calibrate travel time, ensuring precise positioning without manual setup. Bus-powered electronics and integrated bus coupling units enable direct KNX connection. Communication objects support movement to limit positions, step-by-step slat adjustment, and direct positioning by percentage values.

The device supports automatic opening of slats to preset positions, integrated 1-bit scene control for two favorite positions, and 8-bit scene control with up to eight scenes per channel. An optional sunshine object enables automatic sunlight tracking, while manual mode takes priority over automatic positioning. Alarm functions move blinds to safety positions in response to wind, rain, or frost conditions.
