This single port makes it the standard choice for buildings with substantial installed bases of LON field devices where owners want a modern supervisory layer without replacing every controller on the trunk. Rather than purchasing separate LonWorks to BACnet gateways and treating them as integration projects, sites can present LON devices directly to the head end and map them into the same engineering database as BACnet and Modbus points.
