NP16164_01WG Schneider Unica Range KNX Wall Station with Eight Keys Wine Gold Status LEDs Bus Coupler
The NP16164_01WG is the eight-key Unica KNX wall station in the wine gold finish — the combination of the greatest control capacity in the family with the warmest decorative finish. It is specified where a room needs comprehensive control but the wall device is also part of the interior design.
The device is a bus station in the full sense: it carries an integrated bus coupling unit, is supplied from the KNX line at approximately 18 milliamperes with no mains connection, connects through a bus connecting terminal, and is commissioned in ETS5 or higher.
Eight keys with backlit symbols give a plate that is visually a single flat surface when idle and reveals its functions only when active. Because the symbols come from the prefabricated foils supplied in the box, the same hardware serves rooms with different requirements. Each key supports both a short and a long operation, and the extended settings add value output, shift register operation, RGB and RGBW control, and colour temperature control.

The warm finish turns the wall station, the fixing frame, and the cover frame into one visual object, so the three have to be ordered together and in the same finish. On this range the wall station is supplied without either frame, and a shade difference in a warm metal assembly is far more noticeable than on a neutral one.
On the programming side, eight keys require a layout convention agreed at project level and applied in every room, with the lighting grouped on one side and the scenes on the other, and with the convention recorded alongside the group addresses so that a plate replaced years later can be commissioned to match.
The backlighting has separate normal and night brightness and a proximity function. On an eight-key plate the amount of light emitted is substantial, so the night setting should be judged in the room after dark rather than in the commissioning light of an unfinished building.
Luxury hotel suites, private clubs, and high-end residential principal rooms are the main applications, where the finish matches brass or warm metal fittings and a large number of lighting conditions has to be available from one position.
Fine dining rooms and function spaces use it where the room is set to a scene before service and to another afterwards. Yacht and hospitality interiors specify it because the finish allows the control point to sit alongside brass ironmongery.
Where the same interior contains rooms of different complexity, the availability of this design at two, four, six, and eight keys is the practical reason it is chosen, since a single visual family can cover the whole project while the number of keys varies with the room.
