C2E616201_GY_C1 Schneider Cuadro H Fourfold KNX Switch Interface Light Grey Polymer 13mA IP20 Indoor Plate
The C2E616201_GY_C1 is the four-gang grey plastic keypad of the Schneider Cuadro H family — the configuration most commercial rooms settle on once lighting has been split into a general group, a perimeter or feature group, and a blind. The article number identifies it precisely: the 201 block denotes four gangs, the 01 in the material position indicates a plastic faceplate (rather than metal 02 or glass 03), and GY designates grey.
Electrically, it is the simplest device on the floor: a KNX bus participant fed at 21 to 30 V DC, drawing approximately 13 mA at 24 V, with the coupling unit integrated inside the housing, a two-core bus connector, and no mains connection whatsoever. This means the plate can be reassigned between a lighting circuit, a blind channel, and a scene without touching the wiring — the load is whatever the actuator elsewhere on the bus can carry.

Four gangs is where the installation starts to require a written convention rather than a verbal one, because each gang distinguishes a short press from a long press — the plate therefore carries eight operations. The order that survives handover in practice is left to right by function, not by cable: general lighting, then perimeter or feature lighting, then blind, then scene — applied identically in every room of the same type and recorded with the group addresses.
The proximity sensor adds a parameter that is easy to forget: detection is by microwave, sensitivity depends on the panel material, and both the material and one of two sensitivity levels are selected in ETS — so a plastic plate must be declared as plastic.
Mechanically, the wall box must be at least 35 mm deep and is not supplied; the retaining ring must not exceed 6 kgf.cm; and the buttons must not be pulled off because they are not removable — only the icons are changed.
- Open-plan offices: used at the entrance to each zone where lighting follows daylight and blinds are adjusted through the day.
- Meeting rooms: applied where general lighting, presentation lighting, blind, and a scene are all required from one position.
- Hotel guest rooms: the four-gang version is specified where entrance lighting, bedside lighting, curtain, and a master-off are grouped together.
- Residential living rooms: used where a layered lighting scheme would otherwise require two plates.
- Schools and training rooms: chosen because four clearly labelled gangs are easier to hand over than a scene-based panel.
- Clinics: used where general and examination lighting are separate circuits and the blind is motorised.
Grey is chosen over white where the wall is warm neutral, or where the plate is repeated along a corridor and a bright white object at every door would be visually noisy.
