Product Description
Product Overview

The C2E616302_MB_C1 is the six-gang metal keypad from the Cuadro H range in matt black. It combines the largest practical gang count below the eight-gang plate with the heaviest faceplate in the family. The article number follows a consistent rule: 302 denotes six gangs, 02 declares a metal faceplate, MB indicates matt black, and only the colour code at the end and the C1 suffix for the sales area vary.

Technically, it is the same bus participant as every other Cuadro H keypad: 21 to 30 V DC from the KNX line, approximately 13 mA at 24 V, a coupling unit integrated in the housing, a two-core bus connector with red to plus and black to minus, and no mains connection. Because there is no mains connection, the plate carries no load rating and can be re-tasked to lighting, blinds, or scenes without rewiring. The envelope measures 86 × 86 × 29 mm, and the declaration is CE with KNX certification, IP20, for indoor use.

System Integration Notes

Two commissioning points carry more weight on this variant than on the plastic plates.

  • Sensing parameter: Proximity detection is by microwave. The instructions state that sensitivity depends on the panel material, and both the material and one of two sensitivity levels are set in ETS. A metal plate must be declared as metal, or the plate will sense unpredictably.
  • Metal front and the SELV rule: The device must be installed to SELV wiring regulations. Where it shares a multi-gang frame with 230 V accessories, the installer is responsible for maintaining the separation, insulating the shield, the stability wire, and the white and yellow cores, and landing only the red and black bus cores.
The retaining ring is metal and seats the plate against the wall. Over-tightening past 6 kgf·cm distorts it and shows as an uneven shadow line at the edge of the plate.
Application Scenarios

This plate is specified where six gangs of control and a metal finish are both non-negotiable, which usually means a premium interior with a layered lighting design.

  • Hotel suites and club rooms: Used where the entrance position controls several lighting groups, the curtain, and a stored scene, and the wall is a dark veneer that a polymer plate would fail to match.
  • Executive floors and boardrooms: Applied where the hardware is specified to the same standard as the joinery.
  • High-end residential projects: Used in principal living rooms where the lighting is designed in layers and the client has asked for metal throughout.
  • Restaurants and private dining rooms: Taken where the scene changes between service periods and the fittings are black, and where a project already uses metal two- and four-gang plates elsewhere — this version keeps the larger rooms consistent in material while the gang count rises with the complexity of the lighting.
