Product Description
Product Overview

The C2E616203_MB_C1 pairs the most commonly specified gang count in the Cuadro H range with its most design-led surface. Four gangs, a glass face, and a black finish: in the article number, the 203 block denotes the four-gang group, the 03 digit indicates glass, and MB stands for black. This is the plate that sits between the plastic four-gang C2E616201 in the same colour and the stainless four-gang C2E616202.

The electrical description is short because the device is deliberately simple: a KNX TP participant fed at 21 to 30 V DC and approximately 13 mA, with the coupling unit integrated in the housing, a two-core connector, no mains terminal, and no load rating to check. Everything the plate does is defined by group addresses, which is why one article number can run lighting groups, a motorised blind, and a stored scene in the same room — and why the plate can be re-tasked after a refurbishment without being replaced.

System Integration Notes

Glass plates are where the ETS material parameter earns its keep. Proximity detection is microwave-based, and the instructions state that sensitivity is closely related to the panel material. The material, together with one of two sensitivity levels, is selected in ETS — so a glass face left configured as plastic will sense at a distance that does not match the drawing.

The rest of the installation is straightforward:

  • A wall box of at least 35 mm depth (not supplied).
  • A retaining ring tightened to no more than 6 kgf.cm.
  • Buttons that are not removable, so icons must be chosen before the plate goes on.
  • A dust cover that should stay in place until decoration is finished.

Four gangs give eight operations with short and long presses. The layout should be documented per room type, because on a black glass face the icons are the only cue — and an inconsistent layout shows immediately.

Application Scenarios

This is the plate for rooms where four zones of control and a design surface are both required.

  • Hotel guest rooms — used where entrance lighting, bedside lighting, curtain control, and a master off are grouped on one plate that reads as a black panel against a dark wall.
  • Residential living and dining rooms — applied where a layered lighting scheme would otherwise need two separate plates, and the glass matches a glass dining table or a glazed partition.
  • Executive offices and meeting rooms — specified where lighting, blind, and a presentation scene are all operated from the door.
  • Sales suites — used because the finish photographs well.

Where the project mixes plate sizes, the four-gang glass version is usually the workhorse, with the two-gang version in smaller rooms and the six- and eight-gang versions where the lighting design becomes genuinely layered.
