NP16161_01WG Schneider Unica KNX 2 Key Push Button Wine Gold Backlit Scene Control Panel Unit 86mm
The NP16161_01WG is a two-key Unica KNX push button in the wine gold finish — the warmest of the finishes in this range and one that is chosen where the wall device has to sit alongside brass or warm metal ironmongery. It is a bus device with an integrated bus coupling unit, so it connects to the KNX line directly through a bus connecting terminal and is commissioned like any other device on the installation.
The two keys are capable of more than they appear to offer: each key distinguishes a short press from a long one, which allows a key to switch a group on a short press and either dim it or recall a scene on a long press. The extended settings of the application program add value output, shift register operation and colour temperature control for installations that use tunable luminaires. The key symbols are produced by the backlit surface rather than by engraving, and the panel presents a uniform plane when the backlighting is off.

The wine gold finish is a decorative choice, and the practical consequence is that the frame and cover frame have to be ordered to match, both in colour and in material, since the panel ships as the push button alone.
Where the device is used for scene control, the scene numbering should be agreed at project level rather than per room, because a panel that recalls scene one in one room and scene three in the next is a source of confusion that only becomes apparent after the building is occupied.
The backlighting has separate day and night brightness, and the night setting should be checked in the dark rather than at the commissioning desk, since a panel that is comfortable in daylight can be intrusive in a bedroom.
Because the symbols are foils, the pack of prefabricated foils and the symbols actually used should be recorded, or the panel becomes impossible to reproduce after a refurbishment.
- Luxury hotel suites — the primary application, where a warm metal finish is specified to match the interior and the lighting is arranged in scenes rather than individual circuits.
- High-end residential projects — used where the switch plates are part of the design specification and the client has chosen the finish.
- Boutique restaurants and clubs — applied where the lighting changes through the evening and the wall device is visible to guests.
- Yacht and hospitality interiors — specified because the finish allows the control to sit alongside brass fittings.
Because the same panel is available in several key counts, it is also used where a single visual family has to cover rooms of different complexity while the finish stays consistent.
