NP16163_01WG Schneider Unica Range KNX Wall Station with Six Keys Wine Gold Status LEDs Bus Coupler
The NP16163_01WG is a six-key wall station in the Unica KNX range, supplied in the wine gold finish that Schneider Electric uses for interiors where the control point is expected to match warm metal fittings. Six keys on a single 86 mm plate is the key count at which a wall device stops being a switch plate and becomes a small control station, and this one is designed around that idea: the surface reads as a uniform plane when the room is idle, and the key symbols appear only when the backlighting is switched on.
The symbols come from the prefabricated foils supplied in the box, so the labelling can be changed without changing the hardware, which means one part number can serve rooms whose functions differ. The device contains its own bus coupling unit and takes its supply directly from the KNX bus. It is commissioned in ETS5 or higher with no separate interface and no mains connection at the wall.

Six keys is enough capacity that the layout on the plate has to be decided rather than discovered. The arrangement that survives handover is the one that groups the keys by what they operate and applies that grouping identically in every room of a type.
The wine gold finish makes the device a design element, which means the fixing frame and the cover frame have to be ordered in a matching finish. The wall station is supplied without either, and a shade difference on a warm metal face is immediately visible.
The backlighting has separate brightness for normal and night mode, and there is a proximity function that wakes the symbols as a person approaches. On a six-key plate the emitted light is noticeable after dark, so the night setting should be judged in the room rather than at the commissioning desk.
Where the keys recall scenes, the scene numbers should be fixed at project level and the scene names recorded, because a scene number means nothing to a user who did not program it.
- Hotel suites and public rooms are the main application, where six keys cover lighting groups, curtains and stored conditions without a second plate being needed.
- High-end residential projects use it in living areas and master suites where the lighting is arranged in layers and the client expects to recall conditions by name.
- Fine dining rooms and members clubs apply it where the lighting changes through the evening and the wall device is part of the interior.
- Premium retail environments specify it where a large space is divided into zones controlled from a small number of visible positions.
Because the same wall station is offered with two, four, six and eight keys in the same design, this version is often chosen where a project needs a single visual language while matching capacity to the complexity of each room.
