NP16212_01BK_E1 Schneider Unica Range KNX Wall Station Five Keys Black plus Room Thermostat Display Screen
The NP16212_01BK_E1 is the thermostat version of the Unica KNX wall station, supplied in black. The building services side of the device is what separates it from the push buttons in the same family. The plate carries a display alongside five operating buttons with status indicators, and behind the face there is an integrated temperature sensor that measures the room rather than the wall cavity, which means the device is both the room controller and the room sensor in one position.
The thermostat application supports fan coil units, variable refrigerant flow systems, floor heating and ventilation. The display shows the actual room temperature together with the heating or cooling status and the ventilation status. The unit draws approximately 18 milliamperes for the push button section and approximately 22 milliamperes for the thermostat section from the KNX bus, with no mains connection, and occupies two modules.

The decision that matters with a combined push button and thermostat is where the temperature reference comes from. The fan coil application allows the room temperature to be taken from the internal sensor, from an external sensor or from a combination of both, which in practice is what determines whether the device can be used in a room with a strong local heat source or a large glazed facade.
The floor heating application is simpler in appearance but not in behaviour: it offers PI control with either PWM or switching two-point feedback, and the choice affects how audible the thermal actuator is in a quiet room. The thermostat section also supports a CO2 sensor and the monitoring of further sensors, so it can act as the room side interface for ventilation strategies as well as temperature. Window contact evaluation is available, which is worth commissioning even where it is not used initially, because the input is already wired to the same device.
- Hotel guest rooms — the principal application, where one plate provides the lighting control, the room temperature setting and the display the guest reads at night, and where the black finish suits a dark interior scheme.
- Office meeting rooms — used where the temperature and the lighting are adjusted by the occupants from the same device.
- Residential projects — applied in bedrooms and living rooms where a single wall position controls both services.
- Healthcare consulting rooms and small treatment rooms — specified where the room temperature has to be visible and adjustable without a separate thermostat.
- Serviced apartments and student accommodation — used because it consolidates two functions into one plate, which reduces the number of devices on the wall and the number of trades that have to coordinate at the same position.
