C2E616201_MB_C1 Schneider Cuadro H Matte Black Plastic Fourfold KNX Switch Interface Bus-Fed 13mA Unit
The C2E616201_MB_C1 is the four-gang keypad of the Cuadro H range, featuring a matt black plastic faceplate. This version provides a four-gang control point for dark interiors without the weight and cost of a metal plate. In the article number, the 201 block denotes four gangs, and the 01 in the third position from the end denotes plastic — distinguishing it from the metal four-gang C2E616202 and the glass four-gang C2E616203 in the same colour.
The device is bus-powered from the KNX line at 21 to 30 V DC, drawing approximately 13 mA at 24 V through a two-core connector. The coupling unit is integrated, and there is no mains terminal. Dimensions are 86 × 86 mm with a 29 mm depth, and the plate is held by a metal retaining ring tightened to no more than 6 kgf·cm.

Matt black plastic behaves differently from matt black metal in two respects that matter on site.
Proximity sensor: Detection is by microwave, and sensitivity is material-dependent. The material must be declared in ETS, with one of two sensitivity levels chosen. A plastic plate configured as metal will be unreliable in a way that is hard to diagnose, because the plate looks identical.
Handling: A polymer face marks less from impact than a painted metal one — relevant on a corridor wall where trolleys and cleaning equipment pass — but it shows fingerprints more, and on a matt black surface a single greasy mark is conspicuous. Clean with a soft dry cloth only; solvents and abrasive cleaners will leave a patch that cannot be repaired. The buttons are not removable and only the icons are changed, so the layout must be decided before the plate is clipped on rather than after.
Hotel corridors and guest rooms are the main application, where the four gangs cover the entrance lighting, the bedside lighting, the curtain and a master off, and the black plate sits inside a dark scheme without drawing the eye.
Bars, lounges and restaurants use it where the lighting is dimmed for most of the day and a white plate would be the brightest object on the wall. Residential media rooms apply it for the same reason.
Offices with dark partition systems specify it where the accessories are black throughout, and premium retail uses it on display walls and in fitting rooms where the fittings are coordinated.
