Product Description
Product Overview

The C2E616403_MB_C1 is the largest plate in the Cuadro H family, and the one where the glass face does most of the work. Eight gangs of buttons on an 86 mm square would look crowded in plastic, but read as a clean panel in glass. The code breaks down as 403 for eight gangs, 03 for a glass faceplate, and MB for black.

Underneath the surface sits the same KNX TP node used from the two-gang plate upwards, which is the quiet advantage of this range: 21 to 30 V DC, approximately 13 mA at 24 V, coupling unit in the housing, two-core connector, no mains terminal, and no load rating to reconcile. Everything the plate commands is defined in ETS, so the same article number can hold a ballroom scene set, a boardroom lighting and blind layout, or a residential lighting design — the difference is configuration rather than hardware.

System Integration Notes

Sixteen operations on a glass face has one clear consequence: the icons are the entire interface, and the material has to be declared to the sensor behind it. Proximity detection is microwave-based, sensitivity depends on the panel material, and the material plus one of two sensitivity levels is set in ETS — so glass is a parameter, not an assumption.

The layout convention then has to be issued with the group address list, because a black glass plate gives no tactile cue, and an inconsistent layout between two identical rooms is noticed even when the system is functioning correctly.

Installation follows the family pattern:

  • Wall box of at least 35 mm depth
  • Retaining ring tightened to no more than 6 kgf·cm
  • Buttons fixed, so icons must be settled before the plate is fitted
  • Dust cover kept in place until decoration is complete
  • Cleaning with a soft dry cloth only — solvents leave a permanent mark on a glass front

Application Scenarios

Eight-gang glass plates go where a room is both complex and on display.

  • Hotel ballrooms and function suites — used where lighting states follow the room layout and the entrance position has to reach every group, the blinds, and a master scene. The plate reads as a black panel against a dark acoustic wall.
  • Boardrooms, executive dining rooms, and private cinemas — applied where the lighting is entirely artificial and the control surface has to disappear into the room.
  • Premium retail flagships — specified where a large floor is divided into display zones operated from a back-of-house position.
  • High-end residential projects — used in principal rooms where the client wants a single comprehensive plate and has chosen glass to match a partition or a table top.

In a scheme that mixes glass and stainless, the glass is normally kept for the rooms where the plate is seen, and the stainless for the rooms where it is used.
