R9MCT160 Schneider Resi9 Current Transformer Kit 160A Three Pieces Energy Meter Modbus CT Cabinet Set
The R9MCT160 is the mid-range current transformer in the Schneider Resi9 range, rated at 160 amperes and supplied as a set of three — the quantity required for a three-phase circuit. Its defining dimension is the 18.5 mm conductor opening, which allows it to close around a feeder that would not pass through the 80 A version. This is the number to check against the cable schedule before the board is built, not after.
The 1.5 m signal lead in a single pair is long enough to reach the meter from the bottom of a board where the transformers sit on the outgoing side. The 54 * 48 * 29 mm body is compact enough to fit beside a breaker without consuming a way.

This transformer belongs with the universal meter rather than the fixed single-phase unit, because the 160 A range is one of the three configurations the universal meter accepts — and the meter must be set to the transformer that is actually fitted. The consequences of a mismatch are systematic rather than random: every current and power reading scales by the ratio between the assumed and the real transformer, so the energy total drifts by the same factor and the error looks like a calibration problem rather than a selection problem.
Three pieces per set means one set per three-phase circuit, not per phase.
The 160 A transformer is specified on the feeders of small commercial boards rather than on final circuits. Heat pumps, small chillers, workshop sub-mains and the incoming tails of a shop unit all fall into the range where 80 A is too close to the working current and 250 A is unnecessary — and the 18.5 mm opening is the practical check that decides it.
Offices apply it to the sub-main that feeds a floor, so that the floor can be compared with its own sub-meters. Retail chains use it where a store has a three-phase intake and consumption has to be benchmarked against other stores of the same format. In a board that already has an 80 A set on the final circuits, the 160 A set on the sub-main completes the picture without changing the meter — which is the argument for a universal device in the first place.
