NP16163_01MS Schneider Unica KNX 6 Key Push Button Metallic Silver Backlit Scene Control Panel Unit
The NP16163_01MS is a six-key Unica KNX push button in the metallic silver finish — the largest of the three key counts in this consignment and the one that most closely resembles a dedicated scene controller. Six keys on the same 86 mm plate as the two-key version gives a room enough capacity to separate lighting groups, curtains and several stored conditions. The metal face is chosen where the panel is expected to read as a finished object rather than a utility device.
The push button is a bus device with an integrated coupling unit and is connected to the KNX line through a bus connecting terminal. It is commissioned with ETS5 or higher. The key symbols are backlit and the face is a uniform plane when the room is idle. Brightness is set separately for day and night, and a proximity function can wake the symbols on approach.

At six keys the panel is doing enough that the operator can become lost. The way to prevent that is to decide the layout as a project standard and apply it without exception — with the lighting on one side and the scenes on the other, and the same order in every room of a type. The scenes themselves should be named in the documentation rather than referred to by number, because a scene number means nothing to a person who did not program it.
On a metallic finish the fixing frame and cover frame are the parts most likely to be supplied in the wrong shade, since the panel ships without either. The three parts should be ordered together. The night brightness should be set by looking at the panel in darkness, and the proximity function should be disabled in bedrooms and enabled in circulation spaces — a six-key panel emits more light than a two-key one and the difference is noticeable after dark.
Boardrooms, ballrooms and public areas are the strongest application, where a single plate has to cover lighting, curtains and several stored conditions, and the metal finish matches the interior. Hotels use it in suites and function rooms where the room is set to different conditions through the day, and restaurants apply it where the lighting changes with the service period.
High-end residential projects specify it in principal rooms where the lighting is layered and the client expects to recall scenes by name. Showrooms use it where a large space is divided into zones controlled from a few positions. Because the range is offered in the same design at two, four, six and eight keys, this panel is often chosen where the visual consistency of the installation matters as much as the number of functions it carries.
