Product Description
N 141/03 5WG1141-1AB03 KNX DALI Gateway Plus 1 Line 64 Ballasts Constant Light Emergency

N141/03 is the one-line member of plus-class KNX/DALI gateways. It harnesses everything the plus generation can do, but only channel A is populated, which keeps the price down where a single, well-loaded DALI line is sufficient. Regulated lighting duties, including emergency luminaires that must be tested and logged, are therefore achievable without investing in a two-line device.

Product Summary

The N141/03 KNX DALI Gateway Plus is a single-line solution designed for efficient and cost-effective lighting control in industrial and commercial settings. It supports up to 64 DALI control gear units, offering advanced features like constant light control, emergency lighting management with logging, and bidirectional DALI communication for fault reporting. Ideal for medium-sized installations or specific zones within larger buildings, it provides a robust platform for modern lighting automation.

Technical Specifications
Protocol and Line Capacity KNX TP1 gateway with one DALI interface to IEC 60929, addressing up to 64 DALI control gear units on the line. DALI traffic is bidirectional, reporting failed lamps or defective ballasts back into the KNX network.
Scope Limitation All functions act on channel A only; function blocks belonging to a second channel are absent. Application number 983711, firmware V15, ETS 5 or above.
Supply Internal power supply with 110-240 V AC or 120-240 V DC input feeds gateway electronics and generates DALI bus voltage, eliminating the need for a separate DALI supply on the line.
Local Handling An LC display shows the operating state. A front key toggles between bus mode and direct mode, allowing switching and dimming of every luminaire without ETS data or KNX communication in direct mode.
Sensor Parameters Supports and parameterizes selected DALI sensors in the ETS project, including pushbutton couplers and DALI presence or brightness sensors. Up to 16 pushbutton inputs and 8 presence detectors can be registered per channel, all energized over the DALI line.
Emergency and Compliance Blocks Emergency mode is triggered by a configurable number of failing DALI ballasts. Emergency lighting tests can be recorded. An inhibit mode prevents self-contained emergency luminaires from entering battery operation when a button is pressed. A lock object suppresses failure messages during deliberate ballast interruption for testing.
Lighting Control Closed-loop constant light control and two-point light control, one- and two-level timer operation, effect control, minimum and maximum dimming values, conversion of dimming commands into temporary setpoint changes for ballasts with integrated light-level control, sixteen scenes on the line, broadcast, group and individual addressing, and burn-in routines for the whole system or via object.
Diagnostics and Maintenance Group and device level status and fault reporting, including DALI device failure, supply failure, and DALI short circuit. A defective ballast can be exchanged without software configuration, as the gateway transfers the configuration of the failed device to a new one of the same type. The bus coupling unit occupies only half a standard bus load, and the housing is a rail-mounted unit for distribution boards.
Application Scenarios
  • Medium-sized buildings or defined zones of larger ones, such as a hotel floor, a school wing, a hospital department, an office level, a museum gallery, or a retail floor.
  • Projects requiring documentation of emergency lighting tests, which benefit significantly from its logging capabilities.
  • Installations where DALI sensors can be used for local presence and daylight control on the lighting line, especially when KNX sensor wiring would be complex or awkward.
