C2E616102_ST_C1 Schneider Cuadro H 2-Gang Stainless Steel KNX Keypad 86mm Square SELV Bus Node ETS
Stainless steel is the finish most often specified for the wrong reason. The C2E616102_ST_C1 is the two-gang Cuadro H keypad with a stainless face, and buyers usually arrive at it because they want the plate to match door ironware or a kitchen splashback — not because they have compared it with the plastic and glass versions of the same two-gang device.
The comparison is worth making before ordering, because the article number already tells you what you are getting: the 102 block is two gangs, the middle digit 02 declares a metal faceplate, and the ST suffix is the stainless finish within that metal group.
The device underneath is the same bus participant across the family, drawing 21 to 30 volts DC at roughly 13 milliamperes from the KNX line, carrying an integrated coupling unit, and offering no mains terminal at all — which is why the plate can be reassigned from lighting to blinds without any change to the hardware.

Stainless changes three things in practice:
- Sensing field: Proximity detection on this device is microwave based. The installation instructions state that sensitivity depends closely on the panel material, and the material plus one of two sensitivity levels must be chosen in ETS. A steel face declared as plastic will sense at the wrong distance, and the fault will read as intermittent rather than broken.
- SELV discipline: With a metal front in place, the requirement to maintain basic insulation to the retaining ring and to separate bus wiring from any 230 V accessory in a multi-gang frame stops being a formality. The shield, the stability wire, and the white and yellow cores all have to be insulated and parked in the box.
- Cleaning: The instructions allow a soft dry cloth only. An abrasive pad used on stainless leaves a directional scratch that cannot be blended out on an 86 mm plate.
Two-gang stainless plates go where the metal around them is already visible:
- Hotel guest bathrooms and dressing areas — the plate sits beside a stainless towel rail and a mirror, and a white plate in that company looks like an afterthought.
- Residential kitchens and utility rooms — applied where the splashback is steel, with the two gangs covering the worktop lighting and the extract.
- Serviced apartments and premium student accommodation — used where the fit-out is specified to resist heavy use without looking institutional.
- Small offices and consulting rooms — specified at the door where two circuits and a durable surface are all that is needed.
Where the same building uses four- and six-gang plates in the larger rooms, the two-gang version keeps the smaller spaces in the same material. This matters more on a stainless finish than on a painted one, because a mismatch between two metal tones is visible across a corridor.

C2E621201_MB_C1 Schneider Matt Black 86mm KNX Heating Cooling Room Control Setpoint Screen HVAC Panel Unit
C2E621201_MB_C1 A black thermostat on a black wall is the least visible control in a room, and that is the entire commercial case for the C2E621201_MB_C1. The matt black front absorbs light instead of reflecting it, so the plate does not draw a rectangle on a dark lacquered or papered surface, and ... -

Product Overview Four gangs is the capacity where a keypad starts to replace a row of switches, and the C2E616202_ST_C1 delivers it with a stainless steel face. The article number is read in three parts: 202 for four gangs, 02 for a metal faceplate rather than the 01 plastic or the 03 glass of the ... -
