SXWTRC3500B00X Schneider SpaceLogic Touchscreen Room Controller 4.3 Inch BACnet MSTP PIR Black Case
The TRC3500 is the touchscreen member of the SpaceLogic room controller family. Its 4.3 inch capacitive display distinguishes it from the button controllers rather than being a prettier version of them. The screen shows the room state, the setpoint, the fan stage, the humidity and, where the application calls for it, a schedule that can be edited at the wall. That last point matters: this controller carries scheduling internally, so a small building can run a weekly programme without a head end at all, and a larger one can still hand the schedule to the BMS when it is commissioned. It communicates over BACnet MS/TP, runs on 24 volts AC or DC with 15 percent tolerance, and provides eight universal inputs, five relay outputs and four 0 to 10 volt outputs.

The resources are sized for a real room rather than a single fan coil. Eight universal inputs will take a remote sensor, a CO2 transmitter, a window contact, a condensate alarm, a filter pressure switch and still leave spares, and the four analog outputs can drive a 0 to 10 volt damper, a modulating valve and a proportional fan speed signal. The black polished case with a PIR sensor behind it is aimed at hotel and premium commercial interiors, where a controller is expected to look like a thermostat and not like a terminal block.
One environmental figure is worth noting because it is unusual: the published life cycle carbon footprint is 319 kilograms of CO2 equivalent, of which 293 kilograms fall in the use phase, driven by the display and the electronics being energised continuously. The recyclability potential is published at 2 percent, which is low for a device of this mass.
Touchscreen room controllers are specified where the room needs a visible interface and a schedule that staff can change without a laptop.
- Hotel suites and club rooms use them because the screen can carry a welcome message, show the outdoor temperature and let a guest set a schedule for the bathroom floor.
- Meeting and training rooms apply them where the room is booked by different people and the schedule has to be adjustable at the door.
- Premium residential projects specify them in living areas for the same reason a touch panel is chosen: one surface that shows and changes everything.
- Clinics and consulting rooms use them where humidity control matters, since the controller measures and regulates relative humidity in the same enclosure.
- Small commercial buildings apply them where a standalone weekly programme is preferable to a head end.
